| Description: | Jory Bice, better known as ELIXIR to trance fans, has a core following in the underground music scene in Toronto Ontario Canada. Began spinning in early 1997, he's played major parties like, WEMF 99 / 00, Destiny, Eclipse, F3, ATM, Dope prod, E-mail, phryl, OM and is a Hullabaloo resident. and "Destiny Fridays" in Toronto, Plus has played in places in Canada and in the States. Jory has also played along side greats like: Binary Finary, Paul Oakenfold, Chris Liberator, Julian Liberator, Dave the Drummer, M-Zone, and many others! Below is a list of many of the styles you will here in the course of his sets. - Trance/progressive - Hard Trance / Acid Trance / really fast trance!!! - Acid Techno - GOA / Breaks / jungle have been known to creep into his sets - ( basically anything that works. ) The root of Bice's music style-best described as hard melodic pulsating trance-- stems from mixing eclectic sounds and melodies into a kind hearty instrumental stew (thus the chosen moniker "elixir"). He's evolved far, from creating ambient tapes out of a mish mash of noise-- everything from atmospheric and electronic sounds to voice samples, as well as beats in the beginning-- to his signature hard, pulsing style today. He's now embarked on production, promoting his tracks to various labels. Bice's compositions are a mixture of hard, melodic, and acid styles of trance / techno with hard hitting beats and bass-lines. With such influences like M-Zone, Alien Factory, Nostrum, Lab 4, Space Girl, Sharky, Marino Stephano, and Meo Lorenzo, each track is liberally-laced with sweeping melodies, acid lines and robust bass lines. The result is a distinct, pounding hard sound that is in turns broodingly melodic and uplifting, making it difficult to keep from being moved-and moving-upon hearing. Recently Jory has had a track released on DYNAMIX records in the UK. Look out for " READY THE RHYTHM " to be released on this label in the coming months! Dynamix is a part of the Nu Energy Record Collective. You can also find releases like " Inconsistancy " on Patchworks.ca 's CD compilation.
