Disk Jockeys - Raized In Black
Raized In Black
Location:Canada, Quebec, Montreal
Genre:Electronic
Description:It was during the warm summer of 1994 that solo electronic composer ROMELL REGULACION deviated from his synth-pop outfit RIME progressing to a more aggressive and intense nature - meshing hard-edged electronics, pulsating rhythms, heavy guitars, and screaming vocals. The new project, formerly known as LOST SOULS, caught the eye of LA's gothic-industrial mecca CLEOPATRA RECORDS who signed Lost Souls as RAZED IN BLACK after a discovery of bands with the same name. Since then, RAZED IN BLACK's popularity has grown tremendously as its worldwide exposure continues.

Currently, Romell's RAZED IN BLACK has released four solo records and have appeared on 50+ compilation albums. Sharing the energy, Romell has kept busy contributing to numerous high profile albums providing remixes for Berlin, Information Society, Bowowow, Switchblade Symphony, Gary Numan, and more. Tribute compilations stem from such artists as Depeche Mode, The Cure, Metallica, Skinny Puppy, and more. DOLPHIN RECORDS recently licensed a collective entitled "Unearthed" exposing Japan to Razed In Black's musical assault. Romell has even been awarded Best Rock Vocalist in the 1996 and the 1997 Hawaii Music Awards, and an AVN AWARD for 1999 Best Music in an Adult Film (Strange Life:The Breech). Video game mogul SONY PLAYSTATION has even caught its eye including 4 Razed In Black tracks on a game called "VS.". Blockbusters CARRIE 2:THE RAGE and MYSTERY MEN excite the screen with tracks from Romell as well, teasing viewers with a sonic edge only he can deliver.

RAZED IN BLACK's most recent available offering is entitled "Sacrificed." It's defined by the dark purplish sound that encompasses Razed In Black, taking the genre to the next level. This album is definitely Romell's musically best and most personal one to date, a sort of cleansing from within, an escape from his demons, his therapy. Don't be left in the dark without it in your possession. Due out May of 2001 is "Oh My Goth!", a collection of remixes of the aformentioned title as well as wicked dancefloor killer remixes of previous titles and unreleased tracks. This 12 tracker destined to saturate clubs and events is just a taste of what's to come with RAZED IN BLACK's new full length, due out this Summer.
