Musical background
1986-1993 classical violin, various youth orchestra member
1993-2000 - Various artistic collaborations
1996-2000 - vj team with lee schnaiberg, a.k.a vj alimixx,
we organized vj workshops, and produced many video montages together for various events. We produced the video documentary "the Earth Changes" about climate change that won 2nd prize at the Earthvisions Film festival in Santa Cruz, California '98 We also did live vjing at underground Montreal parties.
2001 - Now - DJ
2002 - organized weekly chill nights with themes each week, like "jam with the dj" "poetry night" "games night", etc..
2006- Organized monthly chill out night with local artisan market and performances.

My style has been said to be eclectic, deep, cosmic, spontaneous and groovy...I like to interplay different musical styles and as well music from various backgrounds..
The diversity of my sets can be seen at what kind of events I've played at;
Corporate events (CMHC gala dinner, David Wolfe lecture, Bouddhism Convention Beijing), Marriages, Art Vernissages, Professional dance theater piece, Martini Bar/Pub, Private parties, Electronic Music Festivals and Political Events/Commemorations.

i'll say like everybody else. you really are something... though very talented, it is not the "dj samira" that stroke me, but the amazing person she turned out to be... :)
