When I felt the sharp pain,
I knew something was wrong.
Nothing in this life is certain,
for this world I am not long.
It could be a simple nothing,
or I could be that way.
I do not know the meaning,
and I dare not know the day.
I want to say thank you,
to everyone I know.
I am who I am because of you,
And because of what I know.
If I drop where I stand, or while I sleep
or in my loved one's embrace
Across the world, no one will weep
for I am but one of a race.
I wish nothing more than knowledge and gain,
in our abilities to live.
I feel no sorrow or any pain,
so to you all my life I give.
In the circle of existence, this is our fate:
to come and ultimately go.
While I was here I didn't do my best,
I often neglected the others, and ignore the rest.
I used 'I' way too often, and cared but for my friend.
I am not perfect, and now it is time, to accept what may be my end.
There are no rules, no rights or wrongs, just ups and downs and voids.
Everyone now and then, we benefit from our Einsteins and our Freuds.
Mistakes we make, for granted we take, when their outcomes heal us men.
Six feet deep is where we all end up, only time will tell us when.
