too many rules there are today for us to follow true
no tendancy for leniancy on things which we will do
when it all comes to the front the law becomes a case
of extremity when played with will oft kick you in the face
perchance take chance and hold your ground
gainst those whose judgements gavel pounds
make your case submit the facts
await the way in which the jury reacts
gain grounds for dismissal have charges dropped
pay off the judge, just don't get caught
play games with the minds of those in attendance
remember all you've learned during your performance
you'll find that even so rules exist
ways you will find if you persist
to get around or over them
don't get frustrated, you can win
persue your angles, press your suit
do what you will and avoid the persuit
lead them on a merry chase
blend in with the human race
why must we simply conform
to rules created before we were born
so we may avoid negative consequences
not getting penned in, caged by fences
too many rules there are today for us to obey
but rules we must overcome each and every day
we bend and ply them to our will
together we faced them, past, present and still
