NEW SYDNEY BUSINESS TIPTOES INTO DRUG DEBATE
The manager of a new downtown business is expressing surprise at the
positive reaction his product line is receiving.
Darcy Campbell, manager of Mary Jane's, said Thursday he hasn't received
any negative feedback since opening on Charlotte Street five weeks ago.
The store offers a unique line of merchandise advertised as tobacco
products ranging from rolling papers to pipes to bongs which are all
strangely reminiscent of items made popular by members of the pot culture
who loved and smoked during the 1960s.
"We have one of the biggest selections of (rolling) papers in the country,"
boasts Campbell, adding because the products are associated with tobacco,
sales of such items are prohibited to anyone under the age of 19.
