I'm glad Ed Thompson supports marijuana decriminalization (Why Not Ed?
9/7/01). It reminds me of how a pot legalization and decriminalization
referendum I backed with Ald. Roney Sorensen passed in Madison in the same
election that made Jimmy Carter president in 1976. At that time, I was a
Dane County supervisor, and that was the high point of my political career!
God must like pot, since the ancient Jews supposedly used it in the
Jerusalem temple for incense.
