WOMAN SENTENCED FOR POT BROWNIES
ELKHART, Ind. (AP) - A woman convicted of sending marijuana-laced brownies
to a fire station and sickening 11 firefighters was sentenced Thursday to
four years in prison.
A jury in September convicted Susanna K. Cole of two counts of battery
against a firefighter and two counts of criminal recklessness. Cole
maintained her innocence at her sentencing.
Cole allegedly arranged to have another woman deliver the drug-laced
dessert to the station Dec. 23. That woman maintained she hadn't known the
brownies contained marijuana.
The firefighters fell ill after eating the snacks and two required hospital
treatment.
Cole said she has not decided whether to appeal her conviction.
