OHIO: ACQUITTAL OF WHITE OFFICER

A white Cincinnati officer was acquitted of misdemeanor assault in the case
of a black man who died last year after a struggle with the police. Officer
Patrick Caton was the second policeman acquitted in the death of Roger
Owensby Jr. Mr. Owensby died of asphyxiation a year ago after he wrestled
with the police, who had stopped him to ask about drug trafficking. Another
officer, Robert Jorg, was acquitted on Tuesday of misdemeanor assault, and
the jury deadlocked on a felony charge of involuntary manslaughter.
