NEW JOB FOR DRUG WARRIORS
Bravo to Brian Jones for his outstanding column "Stop the war" (Sunday
Telegram, Oct 28). However, I don't think the war on certain drugs will end
as quickly and easily as Jones suggests.
The prohibition of marijuana and other recreational drugs stands between
many drug warriors becoming ex-drug warriors, working at a car wash or
quickie-mart. Therefore, drug warriors will do anything and everything in
their power to make sure that our now illegal drugs never become legal.
Unless we can transfer the drug warriors to jobs defending our nations
against terrorism, the failed drug war will continue to grow and our
freedom will continue to shrink.
