ECSTACY A RISK IN ANY DOSAGE

To claim ecstasy is "safe" if ingested in appropriate doses, as was
suggested by a reader Monday, is not only incorrect but also impossible to
assert.

One can concede that limited doses will not lead to death in most cases.
But even here the potential for adverse effects cannot be ruled out.

Anyone who understands the expression "fate worse than death" will consider
that research into long-term effects of regular ecstasy use has already
provided evidence of permanent brain damage.

One might now argue that alcohol is proven to do the same thing, but it is
the nature of the damage that clearly makes ecstasy the more dangerous drug.

So please, while the freedom to choose is yours, advocating the use of
ecstasy is clearly ignorant, not to mention harmful.
