U.S. SHOULD HONOR PROPOSITION 215
Editor -- San Francisco District Attorney Terence Hallinan's article
(Time for the U.S . . .," Nov. 4) hit the bull's-eye. Our federal
government has bigger fish to fry than wasting time in an attempt to
undermine a voter-mandated, compassionate act for medical marijuana
that works in both theory and practice.
As the former Citywide Disability Coordinator for Mayors Agnos, Jordan
and Brown, I am familiar with the profound need for cutting-edge
policies that assist persons with severe disabilities, who rely on
marijuana when all other treatment fails.
Proposition 215 has been a godsend for those of us who seek quality of
life while living with dreadful symptoms that only marijuana can alleviate.
