PEOPLE HAVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE CHOICES

How fascinating that the man who so vehemently opposes patients in
Oregon being able to end their own lives has no objection to the
death penalty, which we all know has been imposed unevenly, against
innocent people.

Likewise, the man who opposes medical marijuana doesn't blink an eye
when legal pharmaceuticals, such as Ritalin, are over-prescribed in
the schools. What this suggests is that he wants to augment the
authoritarian power of the state in life, death and quality of life
issues at the expense of individual sovereignty and the right of
individuals to make choices affecting these issues.

Is this the man we want enforcing "law and order"? When an attorney
general of a supposedly free and secular state seeks to impose his
fundamentalist views on all Americans, we would be no worse off to
pick someone for this position of influence from the Taliban.
