COP CHARGED IN DOPE BUST
Toronto (Sun Media) -- A Toronto drug squad detective has been arrested and
charged with drug trafficking after an internal investigation.
Det.-Const. Robert William Kelly, a 12-year veteran of the force, was
arrested Friday by members of the Professional Standards Special Task Force
and Toronto police.
The Professional Standards force is an RCMP-led squad recently created to
investigate allegations of wrongdoing on the Toronto force.
Police refused to disclose what drug was allegedly being sold.
Kelly appeared in court yesterday morning and was released on bail. He
makes his next court appearance Dec. 14.
