HEGE IS WRONG SPIRITUALLY, MORALLY
As I was reading my News & Record on Nov. 15, I suddenly felt a sick
feeling in my stomach as I read with disgust the "different holiday
message" that Davidson County's own beloved sheriff is sending this holiday
season.
How despicable, how insensitive and how dare you, Sheriff Gerald K. Hege?
Oh, yes, he has that right because our Constitution has guaranteed him that
right. And I have the right to share my feelings, too. But he has gone
beyond what is right. He's ethically, morally and spiritually wrong.
Early in his career as the high sheriff of Davidson, Hege said that he
wanted to reduce crime and stop the drug trafficking in his county. His
position, at that time, seemed plausible. One only had to listen to him and
see the propaganda and other material that he has generated to see that he
is self-serving, arrogant and dangerous.
Not only has Hege offended Muslims, but he has also highly offended this
Christian. And I am sure that he has offended thousands of others, too.
I am certainly glad I don't pay taxes in Davidson County. Hege is an
embarrassment to human kind. His "Rambo" tactics and intimidation
techniques leave much to be desired. Bah. Humbug.
