TEST STUDENTS FOR DRUG ABUSE
As a student at Merritt Island High School, I agree with Ken Braid's
plan for drug-testing high school athletes and club
participants.
Those involved in these activities are often leaders, and their
actions can greatly influence their peers.
Drugs are all too often easily accessible and parents are unaware of
how teens can be tempted.
With the implementation of Braid's program, teens will not only be
discouraged from taking drugs, but also will be provided a good excuse
to escape peer pressure and those needing drug rehabilitation will
receive it.
Considering the statistics on drug use among Brevard County students,
it is time to take action.
