A WORD TO THE WISE ABOUT INTERROGATIONS

The Dec. 10 editorial " . . . And its interviews" advises those summoned
for "voluntary" interviews in the terrorism investigation to "Swallow hard,
answer the questions and get it over and done with."

As one who has periodically been invited to interviews with the Secret
Service, I'll offer my own advice.

Tell them you are willing to meet in a public place; bring your attorney;
invite a reporter from the Journal Sentinel; turn on your tape recorder and
place it on the table; answer questions honestly.
