TAXPAYER TIRED OF SUPPORTING DRUG ABUSE

If everyone is really so concerned with welfare reform, there's a simple
answer: drug-testing. Also, a big bite out of our Social Security finds are
addicts receiving disability.

(I believe) mandatory drug-testing for illegal drug use for anyone receiving
state or federal aid would probably cut the number of people receiving these
benefits in half.

Anyone applying or receiving disability due to a drug habit should be
offered rehabilitation services, counseling, job training and job placement,
not a cash handout to spend on drugs.

Anyone receiving disability for any reason should be tested.

I know of someone who receives disability for a mental illness.

They are depressed and hallucinate. Of course, they never mentioned to their
doctors that they drink, smoke marijuana, and take acid (and other
hallucinogenic drugs) on a regular basis.

Meanwhile, people with real mental or physical illnesses are turned away for
lack of funding.

If a mother receiving welfare is supporting a drug habit, how much of that
money is really going toward her children?

As a taxpayer, I am tired of supporting other people's drug habits, while
the people who really need the help can't get it.
