YOUR KIDS ASK ME ABOUT SEX AND DRUGS

Parents, pay attention. You might not have had sex until you were 18 or 19
and you might not have known marijuana until you were 25, but today's
middle schoolers and teen-agers are engaging in sex and drugs even before
they are able to do algebra. I am only a 20-year-old college kid, but I
worked for the past three years at the Harris YMCA in the camps and teen
programs. I have kept in contact with some of my campers, and the things
they ask me about scare me.

What is more alarming is that they are asking me. How am I supposed to
explain to your children why they shouldn't have sex or smoke marijuana?
Take time to see how popular society pulls young people to sacrifice morals
in their decisions. If we understand, we can move forward. When we don't
understand, we just push them further away.
