ROYAL DRUG EDUCATION
The soap opera saga that is the British royal family ran another
episode about a misbehaving member of its younger generation. But this
one ended on a novel note -- praise for good parenting. When Prince
Charles found out that his son Harry had been drinking and smoking
marijuana as a 16-year-old last summer, he arranged for the young
prince to spend a day at a London drug clinic to see the consequences
of addiction. Charles's action drew front page sympathy in a country
with the highest incidence of teenage drinking and drug-taking in
Europe.
