WOMAN ARRESTED IN HEROIN DEATH

Felony Could Send Suspect To Jail For Overdose Fatality

A 43-year-old Port Huron woman was arrested Friday on charges she
supplied another woman with a lethal dose of heroin.

Kim Larvins, 30, of Port Huron died Feb. 9 after 10 days in a
drug-induced coma, said Port Huron police Sgt. Jeff Baker.

Larvins was found unconscious Jan. 30 on the porch of a home in the
1100 block of Lapeer Avenue. An autopsy showed Larvins died of a
heroin overdose. Police are not releasing the name of the woman
arrested until she is arraigned Sunday in St. Clair County District Court.

The woman will face a charge of delivery of a controlled substance
causing death. If convicted of the felony charge, the woman faces up
to life in prison.

"People need to know that (they) are going to be charged with this if
we can prove they delivered an amount (of drugs) that caused death,"
Baker said.

Baker declined to say what led police to charge the Port Huron woman
other than they had information she had obtained the lethal dose of
heroin for Larvins.

Police will not release further details about the case until after
Sunday's arraignment.

The woman is being held in the St. Clair County jail in Port Huron Township.
