WRITER WAS RIGHT

To the editor:

Hoosier Times letter writer Dustin Ross Sulak was right on the money
in his letter, "Unrealistic goal" (Jan. 20).

The goal of a drug-free America by 2002 did not include the two most
deadly drugs: tobacco and alcohol. They are always excluded for
political reasons whenever the war on drugs or drug policies is
mentioned.

If prohibition worked, tobacco should be the first drug prohibited
and alcohol the second. But prohibition doesn't work, except to
provide full employment of those doing the prohibiting.
