TANAKA: DRUG ARREST WASTEFUL
Dear Editor,
Re: The arrest of coach Steve Tanaka (Iwami), for dealing cocaine in the
U.S. 30 years ago [Fugitive nabbed after 30 years, Feb. 1, Langley Advance
News].
Bobcat forward Laura van den Boogaard and former Bobcats team captain Ann
DeReus spoke highly of him. Imagine the sadness of these students. Imagine
the person who pursued Mr. Tanaka all these years. Imagine the money wasted
then and now to persecute him. Imagine how much better the money could be
spent, instead of wasting it to keep him in prison now.
All this, just to placate the prohibitionists' rabid addiction to punish,
over and over and over again.
