BUSH'S NIECE SEEKS CURE AT DRUG TREATMENT CENTRE
PRESIDENT Bush's niece has entered a drug rehabilitation centre in Florida
two weeks after she was arrested for allegedly trying to buy controlled
sedatives on a false prescription.
Noelle Bush, 24, who is accused of fraudulently attempting to obtain the
tranquilliser Xanax from a drive-through chemist in Tallahassee, faces up
to five years in jail if convicted, though prosecutors say it is unlikely
that she will be imprisoned.
Her father is Jeb Bush, the governor of Florida, and the case stirs
embarrassing recollections of President Clinton's brother Roger, who was
jailed on cocaine charges in Arkansas during his brother's tenure as governor.
Mr Bush's office confirmed that she was receiving treatment.
