QUEENS: UNLICENSED SOCIAL CLUB SHUTTERED
Twenty-one people were arrested yesterday when investigators shut down an
unlicensed social club and found drugs and two handguns, the police said.
Among those arrested was an off-duty city correction officer, identified as
Janette Carter, 40, of West Hempstead, N.Y., the police said. Investigators
executed a search warrant at 4 a.m. at the establishment, the Brick House
Social Club, in the basement at 198-19 Hollis Avenue in Hollis, and
arrested all those inside, the police said. All 21 people have been charged
with criminal possession of a weapon and possession of marijuana, they said.
