EDITORIAL, LETTER MISS THE POINT

Congratulations on the editorial and endorsement of the accompanying letter
on the Ten Commandments, Jan 29. Once again you have missed the point.

The concern over which version of or if an original exists is entirely
ludicrous. We only have to look at where removal of the Ten Commandments
has brought us in the last 20 years. Our schools have become battlegrounds
against morality.

Morals do matter. The quality of life is determined by one's choices. If
Americans would begin to obey the Ten Commandments tomorrow, this country
would be transformed overnight. Crime would disappear. Abortion and divorce
would plummet. Drugs and alcoholism would vanish. Rape and pornography
would be a thing of the past. Murder would end.

The commandments were removed in the light of being progressive. We are not
a progressing nation. We will progress only when we revert to a nation
under God.
