BREAKING ANONYMITY HARMFUL TO ADDICTS
In response to "Model Campbell admits drug use" (Feb. 12):
You published an Associated Press item on someone having been photographed
leaving a Narcotics Anonymous meeting. The original publisher [The Mirror
of London] behaved badly, but The Observer's repeating the information is
no better.
The point of 12-step program membership is that one can seek help without
being personally identified. If people, even famous people, cannot attend
without fear, then how will they get help?
