DRUGS AND TERRORISTS
By now, most people have seen the television ads that the government spent
millions on during the Super Bowl, the ads that blamed drug users for
funding terrorism. What was the target audience of the Super Bowl ads?
Were they targeting the drug users and pleading with them to stop spending
money on drugs? Is marijuana funding terrorism, a plant that is mostly
grown in the United States and Canada? Heroine and morphine money does go
to countries like Afghanistan. Were heroine addicts the target audience of
those ads? How many heroine addicts watch the Super Bowl?
Those were cleverly crafted ads targeted toward middle- and upper-
middle-class voters and broadcast at the very best time to reach that
target audience for the sole purpose of regenerating support for the failed
war on drugs that the government has used for years as a diversion to
justify imperialistic international policies. It is actually an ingenious
new propaganda tactic.
