EDMONDSON MEETS WITH ASHCROFT

Oklahoma's anti-terrorism plans are "on target" with U.S. Attorney General
John Ashcroft's goals, Oklahoma's attorney general said Wednesday. Drew
Edmondson visited with Ashcroft on Tuesday in Washington. He also met with
Asa Hutchison, U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency administrator, as well as seven
other state attorneys general and members of the U.S. Justice Department.

Edmondson said Ashcroft talked about the threat of terrorism and the number
of people trained in al-Qaida camps around the world.

Edmondson said he also spoke with Hutchison about the growing
methamphetamine problem in Oklahoma. Hutchison said he was aware of the
problem, and the DEA planned to coordinate several summits to address the
issue. One of those summits will be in Oklahoma County.
