LET'S DIMINISH DEMAND FOR CRIME

EDITOR: This is a comment on the letter "Why women hit the streets."

Regardless of why women hit the streets, there is still a market truism
that applies. If there were no buyers, a prostitute would have nothing to sell.

Prostitution is not just a female problem; it's a male problem, too. Just
as with drugs, if there is a demand, there will be a supply.

With both problems, law enforcement emphasis has been on the supply side.
Maybe with both problems, more attention should be paid to demand.
