DRUG BUSTS SHOULD BE DONE ALL THE TIME
To the Editor:
In view of recent drug busts in the Miller County area, I would like to say
that I am wholeheartedly behind this action, as everyone else in my family
and circle of friends are also.
Now, I hope this is not just a coincidence that this happens to be an
election year, and this is not being used as a board in someone's platform
as a candidate for the upcoming race for our esteemed sheriff's position.
It does seem to me that if this much concern was put forth in all the
months and years after an election as we have seen just recently, it could
be possible to have a near drug-free county and then maybe it would spread
all over the state.
The sheriff has been very noticeable by his absence at these live reports
of the busts that were shown on the local networks. Does this mean he will
not be in the running for the sheriff's office and maybe letting the
limelight shine on one of the deputies? I sure hope this is not the case
and I also hope that I am totally wrong about my personal opinion on this
matter, but contrary to some folks' belief, opinions are not with you at
birth, but caused by what you see and hear as you travel life's cluttered road.
This is not meant to be a derogatory statement about our local sheriff or a
pitch for anyone else that might be in the race for this upcoming election,
but if this sheriff chooses not to run, maybe it is time for a breath of
fresh air to be brought in, and a whole new agenda can be put in place.
Again, let me say we are behind all the drug busts and hope to be hearing
about more of the same. As anyone trying to raise a family must agree,
there is no place in our life for this kind of activity.
