MISPLACED PRIORITIES
Your article, "A Federal Case?" (2/22/02) reported doubts that there will
be a federal investigation into the Capitol's caucus scandal, because,
according to sources, federal authorities are too preoccupied with other
matters.
Interesting then, that the feds weren't too busy to leave a drug
investigation to state authorities, such as the one of Jocko's bartenders.
They were all minor players and definitely not kingpins who were singled
out and prosecuted to the full extent of the law, and who now serving
lengthy sentences in federal prisons at taxpayer expense.
I feel so much safer knowing these poor souls are rotting in prison while
corrupt legislators thumb their noses at Wisconsinites and piss our tax
dollars away on legal bills, destroying any remaining respect state
residents might have for an institution that is supposed to be representing
the people of this state.
