POT AND THE BRAIN

Editor -- Regarding your story, "Heavy pot use impairs brain, new study
finds" (March 6): I was heartened to see that that even the lead researcher
for that study acknowledged that the findings in no way suggest that
marijuana causes serious brain damage.

I was disappointed, however, that it took until the eighth paragraph (far
beyond the attention span of many readers) to make this very important point.
