LOOPY POT PARODY A REFRESHING CHANGE
Editor - I want to thank David Lazarus for his wonderfully loopy parody of
the statist liberal mind at work ("State's untapped pot of gold," March 1).
It was a refreshing change from the usual fare found on the business pages.
The suggestion that the state government of California should become a
partner in a marijuana drug-dealing cartel to compensate for the loss of
revenue due to its idiotic energy regulatory policies was incisively comic
and right on target.
My wife, poor woman, was under the mistaken impression that Lazarus was not
being facetious, that he in fact believed in what he was saying. But I
assured her that no business columnist for a major daily newspaper could
ever seriously propose such a thing.
