DEA SHOULD GET ITS NOSE OUT OF HEMP FOODS
Thank you for writing today's article on hemp in foods and the DEA's effort
to ban hemp in food products because it is considered to be a controlled
substance ("Manufacturers of hemp foods gear up for the fight," by Carolyn
Jung, Food, Feb. 27). This is one of the more ridiculous arguments I've
heard against (what I consider to be) a harmless usage of the hemp plant,
and I was unaware that the DEA was pushing for an all-out ban. Don't they
have anything better to do?
