HEMP FOODS CONTAIN MINUTE AMOUNTS OF THC
I enjoyed reading Carolyn Jung's article on hemp ("Manufacturers of hemp
food gear up for a fight," Food, Feb. 27). However, I would like to point
out a couple of inconsistencies regarding your description of THC
(tetrahydrocannibinal).
First, you stated that hemp products contain small amounts of THC. The
wording should have been minute amounts. And your general description of
THC was misleading. Marijuana is not a hallucinogenic. Anybody who has
told you that is either misinformed or is dedicated to misleading people
for the sake of contributing to our government's propaganda regarding
marijuana legalization.
Hemp has come under fire from our hard-up right-wing government. How about
helping out and contributing to our cause, to rid us of the mean-spirited
laws our government hides behind, for the sole purpose of putting
consenting adults in jail for doing something that time and again has been
proven to not cause short or long-term health effects?
