3 ANTI-NARCOTICS AGENTS FIRED FOR TAKING DRUGS

THREE anti-narcotics agents have been sacked for coddling suspected drug
dealers and for taking illegal drugs.

Director Efren Fernandez, chief of the Narcotics Group (NarcGroup), has
ordered the dismissal of police officer 3 Alberto Eusebio and PO1 Fernando
Landicho after they were caught in the company of suspected drug couriers.

Eusebio and Landicho, both assigned at the Regional Narcotics Office in
Central Luzon, were arrested in a police raid on the home of Romeo and
Leonor Benavidez in Olongapo City in Zambales province on Aug. 24 last year.

The Benavidez couple were also arrested.

Fernandez also dismissed PO1 Lirio Gorre, of the Regional Narcotics Office
in southwestern Mindanao, after he tested positive for shabu use in a
random drug test by the police crime laboratory.

"This is part of our continuing effort of cleansing our ranks of misfits.
Again I will not tolerate my men caught engaging in illegal drug
activities," Fernandez said.
