DRAFTER OF MARIJUANA LAW ORDERED TO STAND TRIAL
CEDAR CITY (AP) -- California medical-marijuana crusader Dennis Peron and
two companions have been ordered to stand trial in Utah on felony and
misdemeanor marijuana charges.
Peron, 56, who helped draft California's medical marijuana law; John
Entwistle, 38, and Kasey Conder, 19, all of San Francisco, were ordered on
Wednesday to stand trial on third-degree felony charges of possession of
marijuana with intent to distribute and misdemeanor charges of possession
of drug paraphernalia.
The men were arrested at a Cedar City motel on Nov. 14 when the owner
called police after a maid said she smelled marijuana smoke coming from
their rooms.
All three men have prescriptions to use the drug for medicinal purposes.
