SAFETY RIGHTS
So the "Allegheny County and Pittsburgh housing authorities contend that
law-abiding residents have a right to be protected from living in an
environment populated by people prone to drug crimes and violence." ("For
the majority," editorial, April 1)
Sorry, but I don't see how barring police officers from the community is
the answer.
By the way, didn't the president's daughter violate drug laws when she
tried to purchase alcohol with a false ID? And doesn't he live in public
housing?
Several years back, I moved from Pittsburgh to the Washington area. Do I
have a right not to live near such people, who obviously are prone to crime?
