GOVERNOR TO COMPETE IN BOSTON MARATHON
SANTA FE - Gov. Gary Johnson, an accomplished triathlete, plans to compete
in the 106th Boston Marathon on April 15 in Massachusetts, a staffer said
Friday.
Dave Miller, Johnson's legislative liaison, said Johnson, 49, has asked
Department of Finance and Administration Secretary Harold Field for
pointers on the 26-mile marathon. Field competed in the Boston Marathon in
the late 1980s, Miller said.
It will be Johnson's second trip to Massachusetts in a week. The governor
is scheduled to speak today on drug policy reform at Harvard University in
Cambridge, Mass. Johnson also will be the keynote speaker tonight at the
state convention of the Libertarian Party of Massachusetts.
Johnson is scheduled to speak on drug law reform Sunday at Dartmouth
College in Hanover, N.H.
