DRUGS KILL 69 IN THREE YEARS
SIXTY-nine people lost their lives from drugs over the past three
years, putting Cyprus near the top of the European list for
drug-related deaths.
The statistics were made public during yesterday's 14th annual
conference by KENTHEA (the Centre for Drug Education and Treatment of
Drug Addicts).
The head of Kenthea, Kiti Bishop Chrysostomos, said he would continue
to speak out in order to raise awareness on a problem that was not
only getting worse, but was worsened by the fact that people were
becoming less interested in learning more about the dangers.
The conference was attended by politicians, teachers, users' parents
and youths.
