CANNABIS AND TOBACCO
Maybe I have a peculiar sense of humour, but it seems to me to be
bordering on the ridiculous to have a bunch of highly paid MPs wanting
to make laws to decriminalise the use of cannabis and presumably the
smoking of it.
Elsewhere in the same building, another bunch of would-be law makers
are seeking ways to criminalise the use of tobacco.
You don't have to smoke it to have the full force of the law land on
you, just allow your clients and customers to do as they choose.
Hardly conducive to the `hospitality' industry.
In the case of cannabis the warnings of health dangers came early yet
those who wish to use it want a law change.
In the case of tobacco the message has taken hundreds of years to get
through.
Small wonder that there is a certain amount of resistance to sudden
law changes.
Seems a waste but I suppose it is one way of using up time and money
until the next election.
