MODEST MIDEAST PROPOSAL

Former CIA Director William Webster and former Deputy Undersecretary of
Defense Jed Babbin both have justified the use of drugs to "save lives"
from catastrophic consequence. I suggest that Ariel Sharon and Yasser
Arafat show the world just how brave they are by getting together and
ingesting the drug MDMA (Ecstasy) for the purpose of becoming more open and
honest in a way that allows them to have insight not yet achieved in the
middle East peace process.

Arafat has stated his acceptance of becoming a martyr. Is he brave enough
to use a drug known to facilitate more direct communication between people
involved in a significant emotional relationship?

The United States has no problem supplying weapons to Sharon to be used for
the killing of human beings. What greater risk is it to challenge this
"warrior" of Israel to subject himself to a drug well known for opening the
heart of those who take it?

I challenge the world, Sharon and Arafat to think outside the box.
