CONCENTRATE ON DRUG DEALERS, NOT UNLICENSED CARS

Recently I received a tag on my vehicle that was parked in my fenced- in
back yard. When I called the police, I was told it was due to a project the
city was enforcing called "taking back the streets" of Peoria. I can
appreciate the fact that they want to clean up Peoria. What I can't
understand is why not start with the drug houses, the drug deals that go on
that are so obvious that even a child knows what's going on?

I have spoken to the Peoria police numerous times about the activity that
goes on in my neighborhood, just to be told: these people have the right to
feel comfortable in their own home too; it takes time to actually do
anything, just keep watching and call us back when you see anything; we
need informants and time . . . blah blah blah.

Somehow it just doesn't seem right to me that unlicensed vehicles on
private property are a bigger problem than drug activity. I don't think
parents worry themselves when their children pass an unlicensed vehicle.
However, think of the stress a drug addict or a drug dealer can have on
their children.

I think the city of Peoria needs to do more with the drug and criminal
activities that are very apparent in these neighborhoods. After they do so,
then worry about the unlicensed vehicles.
