MAYOR'S DRUG STAND ANYTHING BUT POTTY
To the editor:
Re: "Mayor wants pot decriminalized," March 27.
Congratulations to Mayor Philip Owen for taking a tough stance on cannabis.
The only humane way to solve the problems associated with pot is through
politicians courageous enough to speak out for common sense, and the media
for covering the facts as opposed to hyperbole.
Take marijuana money out of criminal hands. Protect children by normalizing
this simple inebriate and placing its distribution in the hands of citizens
with a reason not to sell to children.
Every province already has a distribution method for alcohol that is
entirely suitable for pot. People at the liquor stores are highly motivated
not to sell to children.
