DON'T RUSH TO WRITE OFF U.S. FORCES IN COLOMBIA
In response to the letter from Philip Spataro, "Yes, enough is enough,"
published April 12:
President Bush has not thrown away $1.5 billion in the Colombian civil war
with no results. It is far too early for a reasonable person to say that.
If the Arabs follow Hussein with another oil export reduction/embargo,
Colombian oil will be a national security risk and our troops will be there
also.
I am also proud in the way our president showed how our military dollars
performed in Afghanistan.
