PRO-POT RALLY APPROVED BY CITY

Organizers are hoping for a massive turnout for a pro-marijuana rally at
Abbotsford's Centennial Park.

"Similar marijuana rallies being hosted all over the world!" said Brian
Carlisle, the B.C. Marijuana Party's candidate in the Abbotsford - Mt.
Lehman constituency.

Tim Felger's planned May 4 marijuana rally and march was granted a permit
by the City of Abbotsford on April 16.

"The city must be expecting a massive turnout," said Felger from his home
on Bradner Road, "because they've given us the whole park and the entire
Civic Plaza."

Felger expressed the opinion that, "The granting of the permit for a
'Special Event Outdoor Political Rally' will deter Abbotsford's 'finest'
from attending at least in uniform, and will help boost the number of
supporters."

Back in 1999 Felger and Carlisle hosted several pro-marijuana rallies
throughout the Fraser Valley, none of which were sanctioned by permit.
Felger believes this oversight caused him several clashes with authorities,
something he doesn't anticipate for the upcoming rally scheduled for 1 p.m.
at Centennial Park.
