PRO-MARIJUANA RALLY GETS CITY PERMIT, CLASHES NOT EXPECTED

Abbotsford's marijuana advocate Tim Felger has been granted a City of
Abbotsford permit for a pot rally and march on May 4 at Centennial
Park. "The city must be expecting a massive turnout,'' said Felger,
"because they've given us the whole park.''

Felger said he feels that the granting of the permit for a 'special
event outdoor political rally' may reduce police presence and will
help boost the number of supporters.

In 1999, Felger was involved in hosting several several pro-marijuana
rallies throughout the Fraser Valley, none of which were sanctioned
by permit.

Felger said this oversight caused him several clashes with
authorities, something he doesn't anticipate for the upcoming rally
set for 1 p.m.
