NO ONE HAS DIED FROM CANNABIS

RE: "OTTAWA'S not a very good drug dealer," April 23.

What an utter disgrace that very ill people who use cannabis to alleviate
their symptoms are suffering from both their health and the laws because
the government stubbornly refuses to be rational or compassionate -
especially when at least one poll has shown 93% of taxpayers approve.

Health Minister Anne McLellan already knows no one has died from cannabis
in over 5,000 years of its recorded history. She also knows she has all the
evidence on the relative benign nature of cannabis documented in cases such
as Parker, Caine and Clay that mitigates the need for stalling any longer.
If those facts are not good enough for McLellan, than there should be no
legal drugs in Canada.

It is issues such as cannabis that make some of the 69% of voters believe
the government is corrupt. We are just waiting to fully translate our
feelings into votes for the right viable contender if the Supreme Court,
without conscience, allows such a discriminatory practice to continue.
