STOP ARRESTING POT SMOKERS, SELLERS
Since Multnomah County Sheriff Dan Noelle is concerned about keeping the
most hardened criminals in jail ("Get out of jail free," April 23), it
might be a good time to stop arresting marijuana smokers and sellers who
pose no threat whatsoever to the public.
Wasting public resources on reefer-madness law enforcement that serves no
useful purpose is probably one reason for the budget shortfall in Multnomah
County in the first place.
